Friedrich Schmoll started his scientific career at the Institute of Animal Breeding and Genetics, University of Vienna and later in Bonn >. He became assistant at the clinic, Veterinary School of Vienna, focusing on internal medicine and infectious diseases of swine. As head of the clinic he was responsible for diagnostic procedures and the production of autogenous vaccines for livestock, too. Dr. Schmoll was promoted to professor in 2008 and managed the Insitute of Swine Diseases, University of Leipzig in 2010. Since 2011 he is head of the Institute for Veterinary Disease Control, Mödling, Austria.
